| SOME COMMON SIDE EFFECTS OF EXPERIMENTAL MEDICATIONS BEING GIVEN TO AIDS
VICTIMS ... What to Do? EPIVIR (Also known by Lamivudine or 3TC) An antiviral drug that blocks the enzyme necessary for the HIV virus to replicate. It only controls HIV, doesn't kill it. SIDE EFFECTS Abdominal cramps, loss of appetite, upset stomach, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, weakness, chills and fever, nasal problems, cough, joint pain, depression, headaches, fatigue, insomnia, itching, skin rashes, hives and hair loss. SAFE ALTERNATIVE Since they only test for the antibodies to HIV the only way you will know if the virus itself is gone, is to take a P 24 (protein 24 which shows the presence of the virus itself). The Living Free Herbal Extract doesn't just stop the virus, but seems to kill it with very little if any side effects. Some people may experience temporary flu like symptoms and nausea, but this only lasts a few days while it is killing the virus. Sometimes drinking extra water will also eliminate the symptoms. Another natural anti-viral is Zinc, which has no adverse side effects. MORPHINE It is used to control pain, difficulty in breathing, supress coughs and cholera-induced diarrhea. SIDE EFFECTS This is a highly addictive narcotic that causes respiratory depression, (reduced respiratory rate), anxiety, constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, sedation, sweating, irritability, endocarditis (inflammation of the lining of the heart) exaggerated sense of well being, and vomiting. There is a long list of less common ones. SYMPTOMS OF WITHDRAWAL Uneasiness, yawning, tears, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, goosebumps, runny nose and a strong craving for the drug. SAFE ALTERNATIVES Our Nerve and Muscle and Nerve and Muscle Plus (for more severe or arthritic pain) relieves most pain whether simple or chronic, and headaches, including migraines. No side effects. ETODOLAC (also known as ULTRADOL or LODINE) This is a non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drug used to relieve inflammation in joints and from arthritis. SIDE EFFECTS Causes abdominal pain, gas, diarrhea or constipation, black tarry stools, anemia, blood disorders, congestive heart failure, dry mouth, blurred vision, chills, depression, weakness, nervousness, vomiting, rashes and ringing in the ears. SAFER ALTERNATIVES Natural anti-inflammatories are Vitamin C (builds the immune system to fight infections and viruses) MSM, (also helps repair RNA of the cells), Boswellin, and Artho Flex containing Cetyl-myristoleate, which cures arthritis. No known side effects from any of the above except possibly a little diarrhea from Vitamin C and only then if taken too strong too fast. ZOLOFT This is an anti-depressant of the Prozac family. It is used to treat obsessive compulsive disorders, panic attacks, and post-traumatic stress syndrome. The Prozac has been well documented to sometimes cause depression, influence normal people to suddenly act out criminal behavior and/or become extremely aggressive and violent. Nearly all of the young people involved in the school shootings have been on Prozac or one of its same family of anti-depressants. Zoloft takes two to four weeks to begin to work and six to eight weeks before the patient begins to feel better. CAUTION Cannot be taken with any alcohol. Consult a physician before using this drug with any other drug or with herbal or nutritonal supplements. However, our products seem to be compatible with it as we have never seen our clients experience any adverse side effects. SIDE EFFECTS Causes vomiting, diarrhea, gas, decreased appetite, increased sweating, fatigue, dry mouth, headaches, agitation, insomnia, anxiety, erectile dysfunction, tremors, loss of balance, nervousness, vision problems and rashes. SAFER ALTERNATIVES A natural alternative is our Living Free Calmers which have no adverse side effects and seems to raise the serotonin levels, resulting in a feeling of well being. SERZONE An anti-depressant with no, long-term harmful side effects. In some individuals it seems to have caused hair loss and can cause fatigue or sleep disorders. MITAZIPINE (also known as REMERON) This anti-depressant is for extreme anxiety or depression. The trouble with this drug is that it can cause the very problem it is trying to clear. It causes increased appetite and weight gain. WELLBUTRIN-ZYBON (BUPROPRION HCL) Used in the treatment of major depression. Used to treat the side effects of Remeron or Mirtazipine. Helps to stop smoking and causes weight loss. Increases sexual drive. Has been used in Europe for several years, but is not FDA approved for use in the United States. SIDE EFFECTS Insomnia and nervousness. DEPAKOTE This drug is used for treating schizophrenia and seizure disorders. It is also given to people to control their aggression. It is widely used with many children in the foster care system to control them. SIDE EFFECTS This drug has a long, long list of adverse side effects in addition to the following: liver damage, headaches, tremors, hair loss, body aches, vertigo, double vision, low platelet count, abdominal pain, vomiting, rashes, nausea and even death in small children. SAFER ALTERNATIVE We use the homeopathic remedy called Belladonna or the Living Free Calmers for seizure disorders as it contains the herb, valarian root, a natural anti-spasmodic. Neither remedy has any adverse side effects. ZERIT (also called d4t and STAVUDINE) This drug is another Anti-retroviral SIDE EFFECTS The side effects are peripheral neuropathy, possible bone marrow suppression, fatal lactic acidosis, severe hepatic steatosis (fatty degeneration and malabsorption by the liver), myopathy and pancreatitis. SAFER ALTERNATIVE The Living Free Herbal Extract. (Available from Lydecker's Naturals VIRAMUNE (NEVIRAPINE) Anti-viral. If taken by itself, the body quickly develops a resistance to it, so it has to be taken with other anti-retroviral drugs. It helps prevent the replication of the HIV virus and is used with HIV positive mothers to prevent the transmission of the virus to the infant during birth or nursing. It causes the liver to speed up, thus it metabolizes other drugs too quickly, lowering their effects on the body. If one is on birth control, it will lower the dose which could result in unwanted pregnancy. It also has bad interactions with many other drugs. CAUTION IT SHOULD NEVER BE TAKEN WITH SEDATIVES, PREDNISONE OR ANTI-FUNGAL DRUGS. If a rash develops in the early stages of the lower doses, it is recommended that that patient stop the drug and not go back to it. Some doctors will prescribe an antihistamine, but the information we found says not to take it with an antihistamine as they react adversely. If one continues to take the drug when the rash develops, it could result in death. It is only recommended for those with a viral load of over 30,000 and a T cell count below 350 and only in combination with other anti-retroviral drugs. It can also cause fever, nausea and headaches. SAFE ALTERNATIVES The natural alternative is the Living Free Herbal Extract. It seems to kill the virus with no contraindications with any drugs the patient is taking. If taken as recommended, there are no side effects and it is perfectly safe. Symptoms could be a tired or temporary flu like feeling which passes quickly. If these symptoms exist, it usually indicates a congested liver. By drinking a few glasses of water to flush the liver, symptoms usually subside quickly. We do recommend supporting the liver to keep it strong and healthy as it eliminates the dead virus and waste from the blood. A sluggish or damaged liver results in a poor appetite (the body says it can't process the food, so don't give me any) fatigue and chronic constipation. This blocks the elimination of the toxins which are then deposited in the joints where they cause pain that is often misinterpreted as arthritis. This can usually be quickly corrected by flushing the liver with several glasses of water (no juices, coffee, tea, etc. as that prevents cleansing). While the anti-retroviral drugs temporarily stop the replication of HIV, the body seems to build resistance to all these drugs and the HIV virus again replicates. They do not kill the virus, but the Herbal Extract seems to do just that without the adverse side effects. ACYCLOVIR(ZOVIRAX) This drug is used for controlling outbreaks of Herpes and Shingles and is an antiviral used in the control of HIV. SIDE EFFECTS Possible side effects are nausea and headaches. These are usually mild and easily controlled. Long term use could cause hair loss. No other major side effects seem to exist. SAFE ALTERNATIVE The Living Free Herbal Extract doesn't just control the outbreaks, but seems to clear them permanently. AZT(ZIDOVUDINE) This is an Anti-retroviral. Studies in Europe and Asia showed that AZT had no benefit if used before developing symptoms of AIDS or if T Cell count was over 500. If T cells were below 500 one will often see an initial rise with a drop again later on. No study showed any permanent results. This drug, as with al antiviral drugs, are more effective if used in combination with other antiviral drugs or resistance quickly develops. Children on AZT alone showed significantly greater risk of developing opportunistic infections, nerve deterioration and die faster than those who don't use it. I also have proof that leads me to believe that AZT literally eats T cells. The CDC (Center for Disease Control) recommends all pregnant women who are HIV positive, use AZT to prevent the passage of the virus to the infant. Normally, the mother will pass on the antibodies for HIV even if she doesn't pass the virus itself. That does not mean the infant has the disease and aren't we looking for antibodies in the mothers milk to be passed to the babies when we vaccinate mother animals to give the offspring protection? So what is so bad about the baby getting the antibodies? The only way to determine if they have the virus itself is with a P24 blood test. No long term study has ever been done in the United States, but in Asia, they found that children born to these mothers taking the AZT, found that the children born to these mothers had a 10% chance of developing birth defects because AZT interferes with DNA synthesis (the genetic code in the cell that determines your physical appearance). The normal rate of birth defects is only 2%. SIDE EFFECTS Side effects can be headaches, nausea, hypertension, sense of feeling ill, anemia, and suppressed white blood cell count from bone marrow toxicity. Those with advanced AIDS have even greater side effects. Long term usage of the drug can and usually will cause myopathy, muscle weakness or damage. It is recommended to be taken with ddl or ddc (which can cause mouth ulcers, peripheral neuropathy, pancreatitis, diarrhea, rashes, headaches, fever and nausea and should be used with extreme caution in patients with a history of pancreatitis or alcohol abuse.) or d4t (Abacaver, Ziagen, which causes nausea, rashes, headaches fatal lacticacidosis, raises the body's ph sending lactic acid to the cells of the organs resulting in loss of oxygen getting to the cells of the body from the blood stream. This results in the death of the body organs and eventually the person), severe liver damage, and/or fatal allergic reactions within 11 to 28 days.) AZT is metabolized by the liver and secreted by the kidneys. SAFER ALTERNATIVE The Living Free Herbal Extract can be safely used after the first trimester of pregnancy.
